The constituency is a GENERAL seat. The BJP, the INC are the main parties in the constituency. In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma from BJP won the seat with a margin of 578,486 votes. Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma was polled 865,648 votes with a vote share of 60.00 % and defeated Mahabal Mishra from INC who got 287,162 votes (19.91 %). In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma from BJP won the seat and was polled 651,395 votes with a vote share of 48.30%. AAP Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Results -AAP candidate Jarnail Singh got 382,809 votes (28.38 %) and was the runner-up.Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma defeated Jarnail Singh by a margin of 268,586 votes.
