The Banka seat comprises 6 Assembly segments including Sultanganj, Amarpur, Dhauraiya(sc), Banka, Katoria(st), Belhar. The constituency is a GENERAL seat. The JD(U), the RJD are the main parties in the constituency. In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Giridhari Yadav from JD(U) won the seat with a margin of 200,532 votes. Giridhari Yadav was polled 477,788 votes with a vote share of 48.00 % and defeated Jai Prakash Narayan Yadav from RJD who got 277,256 votes (27.84 %). In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Jai Prakash Narayan Yadav from RJD won the seat and was polled 285,150 votes with a vote share of 31.71%. BJP Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Results -BJP candidate Putul Kumari got 275,006 votes (30.58 %) and was the runner-up.Jai Prakash Narayan Yadav defeated Putul Kumari by a margin of 10,144 votes.
