Congress president Rahul Gandhi urged voters, participating in the second phase polling for Lok Sabha 2019 elections on Thursday, to "vote for Nyay".
Rahul in a tweet wrote, "When you vote today, remember that you vote for Nyay. Nyay for our unemployed youth; for our struggling farmers; for the small traders whose businesses were destroyed by Demonetisation; for those who were persecuted because of their caste or religion. #VoteNyayVoteCongress."
'Nyay' is a scheme, which the Congress party had introduced in its manifesto, which they released on April 3. This social welfare scheme promises to benefit over 5 crore families in India, which has lesser income than Rs 72,000 per annum.
The scheme ensures that each every household of the nation must have a minimum income of Rs 12,000 per month and Rs 72,000 per year.
The ongoing Lok Sabha elections are scheduled to be held in seven phases. The first phase polls were held on April 11 and the second phase polling began today in 95 constituencies.
The results will be out on May 23, after the counting of votes.
