Rahul Gandhi also attacked the RSS and alleged that the organisation was trying to capture institutions.

Stepping up his attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday dared him for a 10-minute debate over issues like Rafale fighter jet deal and national security. Speaking at AICC minority department national convention in New Delhi, Rahul Gandhi called PM Modi 'darpok' (coward).

"Modi ji, you said you have a 56-inch chest. I challenge you to come a have a face to face debate with me. I challenge you. I challenge the BJP, let Narendra Modi ji debate with me on stage. He is scared. He is a darpok (coward) person. I have recognised him," Rahul Gandhi said triggering a huge applause from the crowd.

The Congress chief said fear was writ large on Modi's face."He now knows you can't rule India by dividing people," he said in his speech in Hindi. "The image of Narendra Modi is finished," Gandhi declared.

'RSS attempting to capture institutions'

Rahul Gandhi also alleged that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)  was attempting to capture institutions, from the judiciary to the Election Commission.

"We have not merely formed governments in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh... we will ensure that RSS people put in institutions in these states are removed," he said.

"RSS wants to run the country from Nagpur. Narendra Modi is the face, Mohan Bhagwat is the remote control," Gandhi went on to add.
