An FIR has been registered against a few persons who raised slogans supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, at a rally hosted by Congress leader Digvijaya Singh in Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal.
Digvijaya Singh has been fielded by the Congress party from the Bhopal Lok Sabha constituency against Malegaon blasts-accused Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur.
Several police personnel were also reported to be wearing saffron scarves at the onset of the rally. When asked, one of the on-duty police personnel told news agency ANI that they were "made to wear this", following which objections were raised.
Digvijaya Singh was accompanied by Namdeo Das Tyagi, also known as Computer Baba, for the particular road show.
Tyagi also has a BJP connection.
He was appointed the Minister of State (MoS) position in the previous dispensation led by Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He, however, rebelled against the BJP after being denied a party ticket for the December-2018 assembly election.
Bhopal goes to polls on May 12.
