Last Tuesday's air strikes were seen as retaliation to the February 14 attack on CRPF jawans in Pulwama in Kashmir, in which 40 personnel were killed. Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed had claimed responsibility of the attack.
Soon after the attack, Modi government swung into action and launched an all-out diplomatic effort to isolate Pakistan on global platforms, before finally heading to execute air strikes on Jaish-e-Mohammed terror camps in Pakistan. From scrapping concessions made to Pakistan in terms of trade to revoking the Most Favoured Nation status and hiking excise duty on imports by 200 per cent, Modi government did not just stop at it.
