Lok Sabha elections 2019: The Election Commission of India on Wednesday said it has placed an order of 16.15 lakh VVPATs and consistently and periodically reviewing the status of production and supply.
“In order to meet the requirement of VVPATs for 100% saturation of all polling stations for 2019 Lok Sabha polls in 2019, Commission placed an order of 16.15 lakh VVPATs. The Commission has been consistently and periodically reviewing the status of production and supply of VVPATs,” ECI said, reported ANI.
It also assured that VVPATS will be delivered well within the time required.
“All VVPATs shall be delivered well within the time required for making pre-poll preparations for 2019 Lok Sabha elections,” ECI further said.
Lok Sabha elections 2019 is most likely to take place in the months of April-May next year.
