The Gujarat High Court today rejected a plea by Congress leader Hardik Patel seeking stay on his conviction in a 2015 rioting case so that he can contest the Lok Sabha elections 2019. Meanwhile, the Election Commission gave a clean chit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for allegations of violating the model code of conduct (MCC) when he announced the successful test of anti-satellite missile (A-SAT) in his address to the nation on Wednesday. Meanwhile, rumour mill worked overtime to pit Priyanka Gandhi against Narendra Modi in Varanasi poll, even as Congress is yet to announce if she will be contesting the LS polls or not.
