Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said after the Lok Sabha elections 2019 'chowkidar' will go to jail.
"After elections, there will be an inquiry, the 'chowkidar' will go to jail," said Gandhi in Nagpur, Maharashtra.
He also reiterated that “Chowkidar chor hai.”
There have been attacks and counter-attacks going on between the BJP and the Congress.
For the Lok Sabha elections 2019, Rahul Gandhi has kept his focus on “corruption, unemployment and farmers’ problems” during the NDA government’s tenure.
General elections are scheduled to be held in seven phases from 11 April to 19 May 2019 to constitute the 17th Lok Sabha. The counting of votes will be conducted on 23 May, and on the same day, the results will be declared.
Legislative Assembly elections in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha and Sikkim will be held simultaneously with the general election.
