Supriya Sule: On a crusade to empower women

Supriya Sule, a senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader, was recently honoured with Mumbai Women of the Decade Award by All Ladies League for her outstanding contribution to social service and women empowerment. She has filed her nomination from the Baramati Lok Sabha constituency in Maharashtra -- which was previously represented by her father, NCP chief Sharad Pawar. Supriya Sule was elected to the Rajya Sabha in September 2006 from Maharashtra and is a trustee of the Nehru Centre in Bombay.
