Based on intelligence inputs and interrogation reports of two arrested suspected terrorists, the agencies have alerted the Gujarat Police that a "lone wolf" may try to carry out attacks on roadshows of top political leaders.
Ruling out an apology by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as sought by his predecessor, the finance minister launched an attack on Congress and said, "People who have violated national policy of talks and terror not going hand in hand should apologise."
PM Modi had said in Palanpur that the dinner at Aiyar's house was attended by Pakistan's high commissioner, Pakistan's former foreign minister, Hamid Ansari and Manmohan Singh.
The BJP, which won 35 of the 61 seats in the region comprising the districts of Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Anand, Kheda, Panchmahal, Dahod and Chhota Udaipur, is working overtime to gain more seats this time.
Police have also denied permission to the Congress and the ruling BJP to hold roadshows in the city tomorrow, citing traffic congestion and law and order situation as reasons.
"Congress has lost in the first round. They have now taken to excuses. Their leaders and cheerleaders are blaming EVMs, including saying they are hacked using using Bluetooth," Modi said while addressing a public rally.
