The Congress' Central Election Committee (CEC) is likely to meet on Friday to shortlist candidates for the upcoming Gujarat polls.
The party today is expected to finalise its candidates for the first phase of Assembly polls to be held on 89 seats on December 9.
The meeting, which will be attended by the party's senior leaders including those from the poll-bound state, is likely to be chaired by Congress president Sonia Gandhi. Gujarat Assembly Elections: Full Coverage
Gujarat goes to poll in two phases on December 9 and December 14.
The election result will be declared on December 18.
