National Eligibility Test-JRF age limit increased from 28 to 30; Paper 3 withdrawn

According to a notification issued by the board, age limit for Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant Professor has been increased from 28 to 30. Also the third paper has been scrapped.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has made changes in the pattern and eligibility criteria for aspirants appearing in National Eligibility Test (NET).

According to a notification issued by the board, age limit for Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant Professor has been increased from 28 to 30. Also the third paper has been scrapped. 

The UGC NET 2018 examination is scheduled to be held on July 8. The registration process for UGC NET 2018 will start from March 6.

Candidates who clear this examination are eligible for positions of Assistant Professors. 

Last year, around 9.30 lakh candidates had appeared for the UGC NET exam across 1700 centres.

According to the new pattern, Paper 1 will be of 100 marks and will contain 50 questions of 2 marks each. Paper 2 will be of 200 marks and will contain 100 objective type questions of 2 marks each. 

While the duration of Paper 1 will be of an hour, candidates will be given two-hour time to complete the second paper.
