Nursery Admissions 2019 latest news: The registration for nursery admissions is all set to begin on December 15, with the upper age limit also coming into effect for the first time. The government had also instructed all the private unaided recognized schools to abide by the high court observance that all such schools should devise and adopt an admission criteria will shall be fair, reasonable, well-defined, equitable, non-discriminatory, unambiguous and transparent. The government has set an upper age limit of less than four years to be eligible for nursery, less than five years for kindergarten, and less than six years for admission to Class 1. The proposal for an upper age limit was challenged in court last year. Though a Delhi High Court order last year had allowed the imposition of the upper age limit, the DoE had decided that the order will be applicable only from 2019 academic session.

AGE LIMIT: What is the age for admission in nursery?

# For admission in the Pre-school (Nursery), Pre-Primary (KG) and class-1, the minimum age for admission in this class shall be three years, four years and five
years respectively by 31st March of the year in which admission is being sought. 

# Upper age limit fixed for admission in nursery class: Less than 4 years as on 31st March of the year in which the admission is sought. 

What are the documents valid as proof of address? 

# Ration Card/Smart Card issued in the name of parents (Mother/Father having
name of child).
# Domicile certificate of child or of his/her parents.
# Voter I-Card (EPIC) of any of the parents.
# Electricity bill/MTNL telephone bill/Water bill/Passport in the name of any of the parents or child.
# Aadhaar Card/UID card issued in the name of any of the parents.
