Delhi University Admission 2018: Application, DU Entrance Exam, Syllabus, Exam Dates

Delhi University's admission season will begin from May 15 for the various courses for 2018-19 session. The dates of commencement for under graduate and post graduate programmes will be May 15 and May 18 respectively, and for M.Phil and Ph.D. courses, it will be from May 20. Registration for all categories of students and courses will be online. 
 
"All eligible applicants are informed that the registration process of all the programmes will be completely online for all categories and quota," the varsity said in a statement. It also announced that it will conduct 'Open Days' to brief students on the formalities of the admission process and interact with them. These meetings will be held from May 21 to May 29 except Sunday at the varsity conference centre. They will be conducted in two sessions-- from 10 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. and from 12 noon to 1.30 p.m.  
 
More detailed information regarding the admission process will be made available in the form of a 'Bulletin of Information' on the university's website, the statement said.

Delhi University had constituted a committee headed by M K Pandit for deciding about the possibility of conducting an online test for majority of UG and PG programs, not just about the entire admission process. 

The committee was formed with the aim to address the issue of unrealistic cut offs and pruning the number of cut-off lists, which went up to eleven in 2017.

Registration for DU Admission 2018 will be done via online mode only.

Documents required for application: Scanned images of a passport-size photograph, signature, one valid ID proof, caste certificate (if applicable) and 10th passing certificate. Self-attested copies of all these documents have to be uploaded for applying successfully.

DU Admissions 2018: DUET - Delhi University Entrance Test 2018

Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET) is conducted by Delhi University (DU) to offer admission to aspirants in undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), MPhil and PhD programmes. The exam duration is of two hours. The dates for DUET 2018 have not been declared yet. 

In most of the UG courses in DU, admission is offered on merit basis, DU cut-offs, whereas in some courses candidates are required to appear for DUET in order to secure admission.

DU Admissions 2018: How can foreign students take admission?

Delhi University offers more than 250 programmes at various levels. There is no entrance test for admission  to these programmes for foreign student applicants. The programmes on offer include various disciplines encompassing Arts, Social Sciences, Commerce and Sciences which fit students' needs and aptitude from different backgrounds. The University started inviting applications from foreign nations from February 15, 2018 for PH.D, M. Phil., Postgraduate and Undergraduate programmes for the academic session 2018-19.

South Campus also provides some residential quarters for faculty members and the non-teaching staff. Outstation students are offered accommodation in three hostels.
