12:40 pm: Overall pass percentage is 83.01% & the top three regions are Trivandrum (97.32%), Chennai (93.87%) and Delhi (89%). Meghna Srivastava, from Ghaziabad, has topped the exams with 499 marks out of 500.

The results were delayed because of assembly elections in five states and court cases filed after the board's decision on marks moderation.The pass percentage last year in CBSE Class 10 exam fell to 90.95 per cent from 96.21 per cent previous year, registering dip of over 5 per cent. CBSE Class 12 results 2017 were declared on Sunday, May 28.

Total number of students: Nearly 11 lakh

Overall pass percentage: 82 %

Overall pass percentage of girls: 87.50%

Overall pass percentage of boys: 78%

CBSE Board Results 2018: About CBSE

The jurisdiction of the Board is extensive and stretches beyond the national geographical boundaries. As a result of the reconstitution, the erstwhile 'Delhi Board of Secondary Education' was merged with the Central Board and thus all the educational institutions recognized by the Delhi Board also became a part of the Central Board. Subsequently, all the schools located in the Union Territory of Chandigarh. 

Andaman and Nicobar Island, Arunachal Pradesh, the state of Sikkim , and now Jharkhand, Uttaranchal and Chhattisgarh have also got affiliation with the Board.

From 309 schools in 1962, the Board as on 26.07.2017 has 19316 schools in India and 211 schools in 25 foreign countries. There are 1118 Kendriya Vidyalayas, 2734 Government/Aided Schools, 14860 Independent Schools, 590 Jawahar Novodaya Vidyalayas and 14 Central Tibetan Schools.
