Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Rajya Sabha member Swati Maliwal has narrated the entire incident which took place at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence on May 13 (Monday) to the Delhi Police, after senior cops visited Maliwal's house seeking her statements in the alleged assault by Kejriwals' Personal Assistant (PA), sources have informed.

According to reports, Swati Maliwal informed police that in what circumstances she called PCR and informed cops about the incident on May 13.

Sources have further said that the Delhi Police has begun its legal proceedings based on Maliwal's statements. They further said that Swati Maliwal has not asked Delhi Police that they cannot take action in this case.

They further said that Swati Maliwal wants that Delhi Police should take action in the assault case.

As per sources, Swati Maliwal did not retract from her statement in the assault case. The Delhi Police will soon registered an FIR in the case.

Earlier today, senior Delhi cops visited Swati Maliwal's residence and left the place after four hours. The police arrived at Maliwal's house to seek her statements in the alleged assault against her by Arvind Kejriwal's PA.

Led by Additional Commissioner of Police PS Kushwaha, the team went to Rajya Sabha member Maliwal's residence around 1.50 pm to seek details of the incident, they said.

Kushwaha was accompanied by a woman police officer. It was not immediately known whether police recorded Maliwal's statement in connection with the matter.

On Monday morning, Maliwal went to the Civil Lines police station here and alleged that a member of Kejriwal's personal staff "assaulted" her at the chief minister's official residence, police officials said. Police have not yet received a formal complaint.

Earlier on Thursday, the National Commission for Women (NCW) summoned Kejriwal's aide Bibhav Kumar over Maliwal's allegations. His hearing is scheduled for Friday at 11 am. On Tuesday, senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh had said that the incident with Maliwal was "highly condemnable".

Slamming Arvind Kejriwal, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said, "It is surprising in fact shocking that Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has not spoken a word about his party MP Rajya Sabha Swati Maliwal who was misbehaved with and beaten up in CM's residence. The CM has not acted, responded or spoken about it. Today, I am being told that in Uttar Pradesh, he was seen walking around with the accused... It is utterly shameful that a woman who headed the Delhi Commission for Women is treated like this..."
