Swati Maliwal assault case: Naveen Jaihind, the ex-husband of Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal, claimed that 'there is a threat to her life and anything could happen to her'. He also alleged that AAP MP Sanjay Singh should stop doing drama in front of the cameras as he is 'aware of everything'.
His remarks came hours after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) admitted to an assault on Maliwal by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's Personal Secretary Bibhav Kumar at the CM's residence on Monday.
'Anything can happen to her'
In a video message on X, Jaihind said that whatever happened with Maliwal was already "planned" and urged her to speak for herself. "I am Naveen Jaihind. Since yesterday, I have been getting a lot of calls from journalists regarding what happened with Swati Maliwal at the Delhi Chief Minister's residence. First, I want to say that I am divorced and have not been in contact with her for the last four years. Second, I want to tell you that whatever has happened with Swati was planned and now she has been threatened and anything can happen to her."
He also claimed that the alleged assault on her happened at the "instructions of someone". "The man who has assaulted Swati does not have the guts to even raise his voice but he did that on the instructions of someone. I cannot tell whose orders is he following."
"I was just listening to Sanjay Singh's press conference and wanted to tell him that he should stop acting, as he knows everything. Swati should stand up and speak for herself. What are you afraid of? Speak up, we are all with you. Her life is under threat," added Jaihind.

BJP protest outside CM's residence
The case of misconduct involving MP Swati Maliwal at the Chief Minister's residence is escalating. The BJP has launched a protest in response to this issue. Delhi BJP State Committee workers are demonstrating against CM Kejriwal. Women workers are staging protests on the road leading to the CM's residence near Chandgi Ram Akhara. This demonstration is being organised by the BJP Mahila Morcha.
Delhi Police tried to contact Swati
According to Delhi Police sources, attempts have been made to contact Swati Maliwal. However, she was neither found at her residence nor at her relative's house in the Chittaranjan Park area. It should be noted that Swati Maliwal had accused Bibhav Kumar of assault at the Chief Minister's residence on Monday morning.
Sanjay Singh confirms assault on Swati Maliwal
While addressing a press conference, AAP leader Sanjay Singh confirmed that Kejriwal's personal assistant Bibhav Kumar 'misbehaved' with Swati Maliwal at the CM's residence. Singh said it is a "highly condemnable incident" and added the Aam Aadmi Party is in solidarity with her during this hour.
"Yesterday morning, Maliwal had gone to meet Arvind Kejriwal at his residence. While she was waiting to meet him in the drawing room, Bibhav Kumar came and misbehaved with her. This is a highly condemnable incident. Kejriwal has taken cognisance of it and will take strict action in the incident," he added.
According to Delhi Police, Maliwal has not yet contacted them to register her complaint. The police said that it would wait for some more time for the complaint and if no complaint is still received from Swati Maliwal, then Delhi Police might contact her.
The row over the assault on Swati Maliwal inside Delhi CM’s residence broke out after she made a PCR call around 10 AM on Monday and complained against Vibhav Kumar. Following the phone call, the police also reached CM’s residence in Civil Lines.
Vibhav Kumar hogged the headlines recently after he was sacked as Delhi CM’s Personal Secretary by the Delhi Vigilance Department over the ‘illegal appointment’. He was also summoned by the Enforcement Directorate in February, for questioning in the Delhi excise policy case.
