Swati Maliwal, who is the former Delhi Commission of Women (DCW) chief and presently an AAP Rajya Sabha MP, had alleged that she was assaulted inside Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence by his PA Bibhav Kumar on Monday. She also made a PCR call and complained about the physical assault.
Additional Commissioner of Special Cell of Delhi Police arrived at Maliwal's residence along with a woman Additional DCP.
The cops left Maliwal's house after four hours but there is no clarity on whether she registered any complaint against Arvind Kejriwal's PA in alleged assault case.
Meanwhile, Delhi BJP Mahila Morcha president Richa Pandey Mishra has written a letter to Swati Maliwal which reads, "...We humbly request you to give complete details of this incident to the Police so that stringent action can be taken against the accused. Judicial procedure is essential to ensure that such incidents do not recur..."
The police seeks to gain information on whether she was assaulted at Kejriwal's residence. If yes, then why she did not give any complaint regarding this matter. Is there any pressure on her or has received any kind of threat.
If Swati Maliwal gives any statement to the police today, it will be converted into an FIR. After which the police will write to CM House to collect CCTV of the incident site. Further if Maliwal files a complaint, then the Delhi Police may visit Kejriwal's residence to find out the entire sequence of where the incident took place and who all were present at that time.
Additional CP Pramod Kushwaha of Special Cell of Delhi Police and Additional DCP Ajanthia Chipla of North District have reached Swati Maliwal's official residence.
On Wednesday, AAP Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh met his colleague Swati Maliwal, a day after the party accepted that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's personal assistant Bibhav Kumar "misbehaved" with her.
Sanjay Singh was accompanied by Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) member Vandana Singh during his meeting with Maliwal, sources said. The meeting took place at Maliwal's residence, they added.
Calls and messages to Maliwal, who is an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha member and a former chief of the DCW, did not elicit any response.
Maliwal is yet to file a formal complaint in the matter.
On Tuesday, Sanjay Singh addressed a press conference and said the incident with Maliwal was a "highly condemnable" one. Police had also visited her residence on Minto Road on Tuesday.
