Swati Maliwal on Friday accused Aam Aadmi Party and Arvind Kejriwal of using entire leadership and resources to paint her as a villain in the entire case. She also expressed disappointment over how Arvind Kejriwal dealt with the issue.

While talking to ANI, she said, ”As soon as Bibhav Kumar was arrested by Delhi Police, Arvind Kejriwal and the entire party leadership came out on the streets and protested against his arrest. An attempt was made to paint me as if he was the hero and I was the villain.” Maliwal further said that she was victim-shamed every day and her character was maligned.

Calling herself alone in the fight, she said that she only hopes from the court now.  “Today I have been left alone in this entire fight just because I filed a complaint against Bibhav Kumar. I am fighting this fight alone, but will fight till the end because I know that what I have said is the complete truth. In this fight, my hope is only and only from the court", she said.

Have worked since I held no position: Maliwal

Maliwal also targeted Arvind Kejriwal for neglecting and not supporting her. AAP MP said, “I am very hurt and saddened by the behaviour of Arvind Kejriwal. I and my entire family are in trauma because I have been working since 2006.” She highlighted that she has herself working since she held no position or prestige. There were no governments in the two states then, she said.

She went on and said, “But the truth is that when I was being beaten badly....in Arvind Kejriwal's drawing room, he did not come. No one came to save me. And an out-of-court trial was conducted in which I was declared guilty. To date, he has neither rang me nor come to meet me and he has not helped me anywhere.”

Bibhav Kumar sent to 14-day judicial custody

Notably, Bibhav Kumar has been sent to 14-day judicial custody by Delhi’s Tis Hazari Court. Earlier on Monday, the Court had also rejected the bail plea of Bibhav. Bibhav Kumar was arrested by Delhi Police on May 18 following a written complaint by Swati Maliwal that he assaulted her in the drawing room of the Chief Minister’s house when she was there to meet him.

Delhi Police has been continuously arguing in the court that Bibhav Kumar is not cooperating in the investigation. He is giving vague answers to the questions. Police also alleged that he is not even revealing the password of the mobile through which important information can be obtained in this entire case.
