Delhi's Tis Hazari Court has remanded Bibhav Kumar, an aide of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, to three days of police custody in connection with the alleged assault on Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal. Kumar, who had been in judicial custody until today, had his bail application dismissed by the court yesterday. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced plans to seek bail for Kumar in the High Court.

Incident details

Maliwal alleged that she was assaulted by Kumar on May 13, claiming she was "brutally thrashed" by him. Videos from the Chief Minister's residence on the day of the incident have circulated on social media, showing Maliwal arguing with security personnel and leaving the premises.

Legal defense

Maliwal's advocate has raised concerns about her safety, citing threats despite Kumar's incarceration. Additionally, allegations have been made that Kumar tampered with evidence by formatting his phone and deleting CCTV footage related to the incident.

Ongoing investigation

As the case unfolds, further details may emerge regarding the circumstances surrounding the alleged assault and the evidence involved. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
