Former Delhi deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Friday filed fresh bail plea in Rouse Avenue Court. The hearing is expected to take place on Saturday. Manish Sisodia, who is presently on CBI remand, was recently arrested by CBI in Excise Policy scam case. The Supreme Court had refused to entertain a plea of Sisodia saying it would set a "wrong precedent" and efficacious alternative remedies are available to him.
Sisodia, who had 18 portfolios in the Delhi government including education, resigned from the Cabinet following his arrest by the CBI in connection with alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the now-scrapped liquor policy for 2021-22.
The bench observed that just because the incident happened in Delhi, Sisodia cannot come to the apex court directly as he has his remedies before the trial court concerned as well as the Delhi High Court.
The CBI on Sunday evening arrested Sisodia in connection with alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the now-scrapped liquor policy for 2021-22.
