Amid the release of exit polls by various organizations forecasting a sweeping victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and INDIA bloc candidate Somnath Bharti on Saturday rejected the results, saying, 'I will shave off my head if Mr Modi becomes PM for the third time'.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he said, "I will shave off my head if Mr Modi becomes PM for the third time.Mark my word! All exit polls will be proven wrong on 4th June and Modi ji will not become prime minister for the third time. In Delhi, all seven seats will go to India ALLIANCE. Fear of Mr Modi does not allow exit polls to show him loose. Hence we all need to wait for actual results scheduled to be delivered on June 4th. People have voted very heavily against BJP."
Further, AAP MP Sanjay Singh also criticised the exit polls claiming they were manipulated and not reflective of actual voter sentiment. He said, "This exit poll has been prepared in the BJP office." "Who will believe that BJP is getting a 34% vote share in Tamil Nadu? Who will believe that AAP is winning 0-2 seats in Punjab? The 'Janta ka exit poll,' based on figures shared by INDIA alliance leaders in today's meeting, says that we will win more than 295 seats."
"I am surprised that only 400 seats are attributed to the BJP in the exit polls. They could have given 700, which could have been possible from 'Akhand Bharat.' The BJP has done a huge 'hera pheri' (foul play), and to hide that, such numbers are shown in the exit polls," he added.
Meanwhile, it is pertinent to note that the majority of the exit polls have predicted BJP's third term in office.
Tthe India TV-CNX Exit Poll, too predicted BJP led NDA's three-fourth majority in Parliament, winning between 371 and 401 seats out of a total of 543 Lok Sabha seats. The BJP alone is projected to win between 319 and 338 seats, the India TV exit polls said. It also added that the opposition Congress-led INDIA bloc may secure between 109 and 139 seats, while other parties, including independents, are expected to win the remaining 28 to 38 seats, according to the exit poll projections.
The exit poll, conducted across 17,919 randomly selected polling stations in 1,629 Assembly seats within all 543 Lok Sabha constituencies, surveyed a total of 1,79,190 respondents, including 92,205 males and 86,985 females.
