Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Phase 6: Delhi Traffic Police said that there will be traffic restrictions to ensure smooth management and security during the process of depositing EVM, VVPAT machines in the strong room at the Commonwealth Games Village on May 25 (Saturday) after the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. These restrictions will be in place from 6:00 pm to 12 midnight, Delhi Traffic Police said.
Police have advised commuters to avoid specified routes, utilise public transport, and plan their travel carefully to avoid delays.
"Alternative routes are provided, and up-to-date information can be accessed through Delhi Traffic Police's various platforms. Cooperation and adherence to traffic rules are appreciated to ensure smooth traffic management," the release said.
It said to ensure smooth traffic management in the area and for an uninterrupted journey, commuters are advised to take the following routes on May 25.
"The commuters coming from Sarai Kale Khan/MGM side towards NH-24 will go straight towards Akshardham flyover and will take left turn to reach towards Pusta Road / ITO / Vikas Marg to reach their destinations. The commuters coming from ITO/Pusta Road side will come upto Akshardham Flyover in front of Akshardham Temple and they will take a U-Turn after crossing Akshardham Flyover and will come on NH-24 to reach their destinations towards Delhi."
Commuters have been requested to cooperate by avoiding/bypassing the above-mentioned roads, if possible, and make maximum use of public transport to reach their destinations.It said people who are going towards ISBT/railway stations/airports are advised to carefully plan their travel with sufficient time at hand.
The seven parliamentary constituencies in Delhi are-
- Chandni Chowk
- East Delhi
- New Delhi
- North East Delhi
- North West Delhi
- South Delhi
- West Delhi
Delhi will see voting in a single phase on all seven Lok Sabha seats on May 25. Votes will be counted on June 4.
