It was indeed a 'powerful show of strength' that Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal successfully presented his opposition as a large crowd of AAP supporters rallied behind him in his first roadshow of the Lok Sabha election campaign since his release from Tihar Jail on Friday.
Mounted on an open-roof vehicle alongside his Punjab counterpart Bhagwant Mann, Kejriwal waved and greeted people of the South Delhi and East Delhi constituencies amid the jubilant crowd. The duo campaigned for party candidates Sahiram Pahalwan and Kuldeep Kumar respectively for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Addressing the roadshow, CM Kejriwal asserted that the Modi government will not be formed on June 4. He expressed gratitude, saying, "I have come straight to you after being released from jail. I missed Delhi people a lot. I want to thank crores of people who prayed and sent blessings to me."
Kejriwal also emphasized his fight against "dictatorship," stating that the BJP would be wiped out in the current elections.
He said post-June 4, I.N.D.I.A government will be formed, and then after full statehood will be presented to Delhi.
"You people should support I.N.D.I.A. This will change the fate and direction of the country. Many great dictators came to India, but their dictatorship did not last. The people overthrew them. Today, I am fighting against dictatorship and have come to seek the support of 140 crore people of the country in this fight. BJP is being wiped out from the entire country. On June 4, I.N.D.I.A government will be formed, and AAP will join it. After this, we are going to give full statehood to Delhi."
Further, in his second roadshow in Krishna Nagar in support of AAP's East Delhi candidate Kuldeep Kumar, Kejriwal alleged the BJP wanted to change the Constitution and end the reservation policy.
He said, the reason for which they have arrested me was that I have built good schools, good hospitals, and mohalla clinics. I treated people in Delhi for free. I am a diabetic patient, but when I went to Tihar Jail, they did not allow me to take insulin.
Kejriwal further assured women that he will start the scheme of a monthly honorarium of Rs 1,000, announced in the Delhi Budget this year.
Meanwhile, remembering his former ministers Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain, who are in Tihar jail, he claimed they changed the face of schools and hospitals.
