Commencement of the commissionerate system
On the occasion, LG Saxena congratulated the police personnel on the Commissionerate Day Parade.
"I congratulate all the Delhi Police personnel on the Commissionerate Day Parade. I feel honoured to be a part of this parade for the third consecutive time. As you all know, it was on this day in 1978 that the commissionerate system of Delhi policing was initiated. This system has significantly contributed to making law enforcement more effective. It has granted several powers to the Delhi Police, which have not only helped in preventing crimes but also in ensuring the welfare of the force. The success of this system is evident as many major cities across the country have adopted it. For the capital, this system has proven to be a milestone, and today is a day to celebrate its success."
