In a significant breakthrough, the Delhi Police’s Special Cell, in collaboration with Mathura Police, arrested a key shooter from the Lawrence Bishnoi-Hashim Baba gang on Thursday. The arrest is part of the ongoing investigation into the murder of Nadir Shah, a 35-year-old gym owner, who was shot dead in broad daylight on September 12 in Greater Kailash, Delhi.

Accused apprehended after encounter

The arrested individual, identified as Yogesh, was reportedly the main shooter in the murder. During the arrest, he sustained a gunshot wound to the leg in an encounter on Mathura Highway.

Previous arrests in the ongoing investigation

This latest arrest follows the capture of another suspect, Madhur alias Ayaan, on October 13. Ayaan was apprehended after being injured in an encounter while fleeing from police on Narela to Bawana road. Authorities recovered a pistol, eight live cartridges, and a motorcycle from his possession. Both suspects are affiliated with the Lawrence Bishnoi-Hashim Baba gang.

On September 19, the Special Cell, in collaboration with the Meerut Special Task Force (STF), arrested two additional gang members, Anas Khan (18) and Asad Ameen (21), during a police encounter, also resulting in injuries for both suspects.

On September 14, the police had arrested a fifth suspect, Sajid, following the earlier arrests of four other individuals: Nitlesh Tiwari, Vishal Verma, Akash Yadav, and Naveen Balayan. All suspects were remanded to police custody for ten days after their presentation in court.

The brazen murder was captured on CCTV, showing the shooter opening fire on a busy street in the upscale Greater Kailash-1 colony, highlighting the gang-related violence that has escalated in the area.
