Congress leader and MLA Kiran Chaudhry and her daughter, former MP Shruti Chaudhry will join the BJP. Both the leaders are likely to join the BJP on Wednesday at 11 am in Delhi. Kiran Choudhry is an MLA from the Tosham assembly seat in Haryana.

She had demanded the Lok Sabha ticket for her daughter from the Bhiwani Mahendragarh seat. However, Congress did not give her daughter the ticket due to which she was unhappy with the Congress party. Notably, Congress made MLA Rao Dan Singh its candidate from Mahindergarh Lok Sabha. However, he lost the election. After that, Rao Dan Singh accused Chaudhry of sabotage without naming her. Kiran opposed this and said that if the tickets were distributed properly, then Congress could have won the election from here.

Two days ago, she held a press conference in Bhiwani and hinted at leaving the party. Kiran comes from an influential political family. Her father-in-law Bansi Lal was the Chief Minister of Haryana.

Meanwhile. Kiran Choudhry, along with her daughter Shruti Choudhry, has resigned from the party.

In her resignation letter, Choudhry has accused the party of being run as a personal fiefdom with no space for sincere voices like hers. She also accused the party leadership of stifling, humiliating and conspiring against her in a "well orchestrated and systematic manner."

Moreover, Shruti Choudhry also targeted Congress in her resignation letter from the primary membership of the party. She accused the Haryana Congress of becoming one-person-centric, hence compromising the interest of the party.
