Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) were lashed by incessant rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds, starting in the early hours of Friday. The downpour provided much-needed relief to delhiites from the recent sweltering heat.
Significantly, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms, accompanied by gusty winds, for Friday, with this weather pattern expected to persist until whole week. The rainfall will vary in intensity but will be accompanied by thunderstorm.
According to the IMD, the minimum temperature in Delhi is expected to settle at 26 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature is likely to hover around 36 degrees Celsius on Friday. The rain is forecasted to continue throughout the next week.
Delhi faces a serious water-logging situation
The incessant downpour, which provided much-needed relief from the recent sweltering heat, however, caused severe waterlogging situations in various parts of the city.
Visuals have been going around capturing the water-logging situations in various parts of the city where roads have been inundated with water, causing discomfort to citizens at large.
Significantly, visuals of vehicles getting submerged at the Minto Road underpass near Connaught Place have especially caught the internet's attention. Incessant rainfall has caused severe waterlogging in parts of Delhi.
IMD issues 7 days forecast
The Indian Metrological Department has also issued the weather forecast for the coming week, where it predicted spell of rains throughout the week.
