Delhi Police Commissiner Sanjay Arora of Friday declared Delhi as No Flying Zone as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to take oath for the third term after his win in recent Lok Sabha elections.
The ban has been imposed on any kind of drone, paragliding, parajumping, and any type of remote operated equipment in Delhi. However, New Delhi is already declared a No Flying Zone. The restrctions have been imposed for two days on June 9 and 10.
"It has been reported that certain criminal, anti-social elements or terrorists inimical to India may pose a threat to the safety of the general public, dignitaries and vital installations," Arora said in the order.
He further said, "In exercise of the power conferred upon me by section 144 of the CrPC prohibiting flying of sub-conventional aerial platforms like para gliders, para-motors, hang gliders, UAVs, UASs, microlight aircraft, remotely piloted aircraft, hot air balloons, small size powered aircraft, quadcopters or even by para jumping from aircraft etc over Delhi during the swearing-in ceremony and doing shall be punishable u/s 188 of the Indian Penal Code."
President Murmu invites PM Modi to form government
Earlier today, PM Modi met President Droupadi Murmu and claimed of having sufficient seats to form the government. Subsequenlty, the President has invited him to form the government. PM has said that he conveyed the date of June 9 for swearing-in to the President. The PM staked claim after being chosen as the leader of the NDA by consensus during a meeting of all MPs and senior leaders of the constituent parties.
After getting te invitation to form the government, PM Modi said that the NDA government has been given a chance for the third time by the people to serve to country. "I assure the people of the country that in the last two terms, the speed with which the country has moved forward, change is visible in every sector and for 25 crore people to move out of poverty is a proud moment for every India," he added.
Hailing India's rising stature in his tenure over the past decade, the PM said that India has established itself as a global friend, or "Vishwabandhu," to the world. He emphasised that the nation is poised to reap significant benefits from this status. He also said that the next five years will be extremely favorable for India within the global landscape. "The world is going through many crises, many tensions, disasters...we Indians are fortunate that despite so many big crises, we are today known as the world's fastest-growing economy. We are also being praised in the world for growth," he added.
BJP emerged as single largest party for third time
Notably, Narendra Modi is set to become the PM for the third straight term as he won the Lok Sabha elections which concluded recently. As per the results declared by the Election Commission of India, BJP emerged as the single largest party with 240 seats for the third consecutive time. Although, it fell short of 32 seats from absolute majority, it is comfortably in a position to form the government as BJP-led NDA clinched 293 seats.
