Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, participated in India TV’s special conclave, 'Delhi Kiski.' During the session, Sisodia addressed several questions related to the Delhi elections. He expressed that every election brings its own set of challenges, acknowledging the difficulties of fighting against the mafia. He emphasized that any effort to bring about change is bound to face opposition.
Sisodia also launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing the party of being behind his arrest. His comments reflect the ongoing political tension and the pressure faced by AAP leaders amid the election season.
Why Manish Sisodia left Patparganj seat
Sisodia also addressed the question of why he left the Patparganj seat for the upcoming elections. He explained that he wanted people who have made significant contributions to education to join his party. During a meeting with Awadh Ojha, the latter expressed his desire to contest from Patparganj. Sisodia decided to vacate the seat for him, stating, “For us, all of Delhi is the same, and that’s why I’m contesting from Jangpura.”
Response to BJP's allegations on CM residence
On the issue of the Chief Minister’s residence, Sisodia criticized the BJP for spreading false claims. He said, "BJP is not focusing on Delhi’s real issues. Their claims regarding the CM residence are laughable. Instead, BJP should be talking about children’s education and the welfare of the poor."
On the Rs 2100 scheme for women
In response to audience questions about Delhi’s initiative to give Rs 2100 to women, Sisodia emphasised the government’s aim to economically empower women. He explained, "This scheme will also benefit female students who face financial difficulties in pursuing higher education."
