A couple of days after two shooters attacked a car showroom in Tilak Nagar, another car showroom owner received an extortion call in Naraina, West Delhi. The Delhi Police has filed an FIR accordingly. According to the police, this latest call is the second to a businessman in west Delhi within a week by a foreign-based number.
The caller introduced himself as Himanshu Bhau, a Portugal-based gangster, and demanded Rs 2 crore from him, police said. The caller threatened the businessman to pay the extortion money or face the "consequences", an officer said.
Shooting on car showroom
Notably, on Monday, two shooters went on a rampage while firing at the Fusion Cars showroom in Ganesh Nagar, Tilak Nagar. Multiple rounds were shot aiming at the premises leading to broken glasses and injuries to seven individuals.
Later, the owner of the showroom received an extortion call from a foreign-based number followed by a letter from the shooters demanding Rs. 5 crore. Just after three days, another businessman, who deals in second-hand luxury cars in Naraina received a call from the same foreign-based number on his WhatsApp.
The case has been registered at Naraina Police Station. Meanwhile, the Crime Branch and Special Cell have also been roped in to nab the shooters. As per police, both the car showroom owners are acquainted and have received extortion calls from the same gang.
