Virendra Sachdeva, the Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president, on Saturday attended India TV's Chunav Manch. Sachdeva said that these Delhi elections will be held based on issues including pollution, the liquor scam, 'Sheesh Mahal', and the water crisis. He said that the BJP will definitely win the Delhi Assembly Elections.
"When people in Delhi were dying due to lack of oxygen cylinders at the time of Covid, Kejriwal was making Sheesh Mahal and introducing liquor policy. How can he expect the probe agency to not investigate him?" Sachdeva said.
Kejriwal caused hindrance in developmental work: Sachdeva
Sachdeva said that Pragati Maidan, Rapid Rail, Kartavya Path, and the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway have been made because of the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP workers. He said that Kejriwal did not aid in any of these because he wants to stop development in Delhi.
Kejriwal did not want to provide any kind of financial aid for the developments. Calling Kejriwal arrogant, he said that he doesn't want anyone to get any credit for the development happening in Delhi.
Virendra Sachdeva says AAP insulted Ministers
Responding to a question on having issues with Punjab, he said the BJP doesn't have any issues with Punjabis, but the problem is with how some of AAP's leaders and officials are distributing liquor at night. He said the AAP recently insulted Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and called him "Rohingya" and "Bangladeshi".
"Arvind Kejriwal wants to play the victim card, but the people of Delhi will not tolerate this anymore," the Delhi BJP chief said.
Delhi BJP President speaks on Kejriwal's arrest
When asked about allegations by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) that claim the BJP is behind Kejriwal's arrest, Sachdeva said that the investigations on Kejriwal are because of his own actions. He said that Kejriwal was building the 'Sheesh Mahal' and introducing the liquor policy when people in Delhi did not even have oxygen cylinders and Covid hit the national capital.
"Kejriwal has to answer questions about the extravagant installations that he has made in Sheesh Mahal, including expensive curtains, many toilets, and air conditioners," Sachdeva said.
"Delhi hasn't been looted this much by even the Mughals; how much Arvind Kejriwal has looted the city," he added.
Sachdeva also talked about the CAG report and said that the AAP government's corruption will unravel soon, and the BJP will form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the issues that have been affecting Delhi. He said that the BJP is confident that it will come into power as the people of Delhi will not be fooled by Kejriwal's gimmicks anymore.
Polling for all the 70 Assembly seats in Delhi will be held on February 5, with the votes set to be counted on February 8.
