Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders and workers on Saturday held a protest near the BJP's headquarters on Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg demanding the release of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Delhi Ministers and AAP leaders including, Atishi, Gopal Rai and Dilip Pandey also participated in the protest. Hundreds of AAP workers hurled slogans with placards in their hands, demanding their national convener's release.

The protestors also carried placards against the "misuse" of central agency and for ending "dictatorship". The protesters assembled at the AAP office close to the BJP headquarters on DDU Marg and raised slogans against the BJP.

Meanwhile, a senior police officer said that arrangements were made to stop the AAP protesters from marching towards the BJP headquarters as no permission was taken for the protest. Barricades were put up and paramilitary personnel were deployed at the site to stop the protesters.

Notably, the nationwide protest was announced on Thursday by the AAP, considering which, the Delhi police heightened security outside the party headquarters and deployed additional forces.

Saurabh Bharadwaj questions ED, CBI coordination

Earlier today, Delhi Health Minister Saurabh said that the coordination between national agencies such as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) shows that the Central Government wants to ensure that Arvind Kejriwal stays in jail. "The coordination between ED and CBI shows that Central Government wants to ensure that Arvind Kejriwal stays in jail...We will raise our voice against it in the whole nation," he said.

Notably, Arvind Kejriwal is currently in CBI custody, CBI took his custody as he was lodged in Tihar jail. He was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the Delhi government's now-scrapped excise policy.

Later on March 21, he was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money-laundering case linked to the policy. Recently, he was granted bail by the Rouse Avenue court in the money laundering case filed by the ED. But the bail was stayed by the Delhi High Court. Following this, the CBI took custody of him in the main case.
