Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday reiterated that he would be out of the jail if I.N.D.I.A bloc comes to power at the Centre after the conclusion of the Lok Sabha elections. Addressing the party's councillors in the national capital, he emphasized that the recent Supreme Court decision to grant him interim bail is nothing short of a miracle, attributing it to a divine intervention that enabled him to be out for 20 days.
What did Kejriwal say?
Kejriwal said the AAP leaders are respected and loved by people and "feared by the BJP because of our work". "I have to go back to jail on June 2. I will be watching the election results inside the jail on June 4. If the I.N.D.I.A bloc comes to power, I will be back on June 5," he told party councillors.
"After I was put in jail, your spirit boosted my morale. They tried a lot to break us but you people did not go anywhere, you are an example for other parties...They tried their best to break me inside the jail… sometimes they used to insult me, they did not even give me insulin for 15 days. I am a diabetes patient… I was repeatedly telling the doctor to give me insulin, give me insulin..." Kejriwal added.
Speaking further, the Aam Aadmi Party chief stated that there were two CCTV cameras inside his cell in Tihar and the feed was monitored by 13 officers. It was said that the CCTV feed was also provided to PMO, he added. Modi ji was monitoring me...I do not know what grudge Modi has against me," he claimed.
Kejriwal to go back to jail on June 2
Arrested in a money laundering case linked to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam, Kejriwal has been granted interim bail by the Supreme Court till June 1 to campaign in the Lok Sabha elections. He will have to surrender and go back to jail on June 2. June 1 is the last day of the seven-phase elections and the votes will be counted on June 4.
