UP minister Raja Bhaiya booked for involvement in killing of Pratapgarh policeman

New Delhi, Mar 4: Uttar Pradesh minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh aka Raja Bhaiya who has been surrounded by controversies earlier has been booked and two of his suspected aides have been taken into custody for a supposed conspiracy to kill Deputy Superintendent of Police Zia-ul-Haque in Pratapgarh.




A complaint was lodged by Zia-ul-Haque's wife Preveen who pointed finger at Raja Bhaiya and his men. She accused Raja of harrasing her husband as he was working on the case of a recent communal riot which broke out in Pratapgarh.

"I want justice. My husband was dragged around and first shot in the leg. His clothes were soiled. There were injuries on his head and face," Parveen said.

Raja Bhaiya already has a criminal case against. Right now he holds Food and Civil Supplies portfolio in Akhilesh Government.

Raja Bhaiya disgraced the killing of police officer but refuted any law and order problems in Uttar Pradesh.

Two other people were killed apat from Zia-ul-Haque in Ballipur village of Pratapgarh district in a clash which broke out after the murder of the village head.

The village head was shot dead over a property dispute. Policemen who were in the village to investigate head's death were beaten up by the villagers. During a retribution from the police, a clash broke out between the police and the villagers and firing took place. Zia-ul-Haque was killed during the clash as bullet hit his head and chest.
