New Delhi, Oct 27: Delhi Police on Tuesday seized five two-faced snakes from a wildlife trader near Old Delhi's Red Fort area.
Local NGO People For Animals had got information that a trader Shakeel would come near Lajpat Rai market with two-faced snakes. The NGO activists alongwith police laid a trap, but Shakeel gave them the slip.
One snake charmer named Kala was caught.
Gaurav Gupta, an activist working with People for Animals said, people with superstitious bent of mind usually bought two-faced snakes for exorbitant sums and then sacrificed them at the altar of Goddess on Diwali night either to “enhance” sexual prowess, or to cast a spell on others.
