Hyderabad: An unidentified man shot about three rounds in the car of K Nityananda Reddy, Director and Vice Chairman of leading pharma company Aurobindo Pharma in the Banjara Hills area of Hyderabad today raising alarm in the neighborhood.
No one suffered injury as the attacker reportedly panicked when Mr Reddy's brother Prasad Reddy walked up to the other side of the car, and ran away, escaping on foot. He left behind an AK 47 gun and a bag, the police said.
Nityananda Reddy, 56, was returning home from his morning walk Park and was about to get into his Audi car at about 7 am, when a man rushed up, got into the rear seat of the car and began to fire, according to the police.
Back and front windshields of Reddy's car are shattered. There have been no arrests so far and the police is yet trying to put the pieces together of the incident.
Aurobindo Pharma is India's fourth biggest drugmaker by market value. Nityananda Reddy is its whole time director and vice chairman.
