Pablo's story adds an irony to the list of those self made men who have glorified their family's and nation's name for something good.
Pablo was born in a small village where there was no electricity. Escaping that scenario, he joined the Medellín cartel and started smuggling of cocaine. His gang used to offer lead and silver as bribe to the shipment officials, who then allowed their consignments across the borders.
As per Forbes, he was the seventh richest man in the world in 1989, with his assets close to $25 billion and most powerful of that time with 80% control over the cocaine market.
