It was said that while Pablo was traveling in winters, in order to get some heat he burnt cash worth 2 million dollars.

Pablo's childhood was completely contradictory to his later stages of life. Born into a family of a farmer Abel de Jesús, Pablo and a school teacher Hemilda Gaviria, Pablo spent his childhood in a house where they had to live without electricity and water. The family lived in so much penury that Pablo and his brothers were once sent back home from school because they could not afford shoes. He attended University of Antioquia for a while where he studied Political Science but due to lack of resources, he was unable to pay the fees and had to discontinue his studies. This put an end to his career but meanwhile he was giving birth to another career opportunity which landed him in luxurious mansions. He had begun illegal trading with traffickers.

After spending his child in pennilessness Pablo undertook illegal ways to earn money. He did everything he could. Initially, he started off with trading of cigarettes and fake lottery tickets. He robbed people at a very early age of 20. He stole cars and by 1970 he became a fill time thief and a body guard.

Before starting off with trading of drugs, Pablo abducted an executive in Medellin and received 1 Lakh dollars as ransom. Pablo achieved his goal of becoming a multimillionaire at an age of 22.

Pablo's company Medellin Drug Cartel sold tons of Cocaine in one go at times which made Pablo earn Billions of dollars.

Surprisingly, 1,000 dollars were spent each week to buy rubber bands to bundle up the money earned from drug dealings.

Pablo was arrested in 1976 with his aides. Pablo was caught with 39 pounds of white paste in Ecuador while he was on his way to Medellin. Pablo tried bribing the judges who were framing charges against him. Finally, after a trail lasted very long, Pablo killed two officers who had arrested him following which the case against him was closed. After this incident, Pablo established a new method to deal with law and law makers. He either bribed them or killed them.

Pablo began his career in drug pedaling with only 30 British pounds. He bought white paste with the money. He filled Cocaine in old airplane tyres and flew it to the destination. The pilots of these planes could earn up to 500,000 pounds per flight depending on the amount of Cocaine he flew with.

With supply in abundance, the demand of Cocaine increased massively. In 1982, Pablo was chosen as an additional representative in the Columbian Congress party which was a wing of Columbian Liberal party. Pablo became a known face by the 80s.

With Pablo's rising power rose his need to fight against the law enforcement and the government. He developed a strategy called ``plata o plomo'' which meant accept money or face the bullets. On one hand many including civilians and police officers died and on the other hand he bribed many government officials, judges and politicians. Pablo even went to the extent of getting Luis Carlos Galán killed who was a contender of President's office
