The Delhi High Court on Wednesday reserved its order on Tejpal's anticipatory bail plea after hearing lawyers from both sides.

The High court will give its order on Friday, but refused to grant interim relief .

A war of words erupted between the Congress and BJP after Tejpal in his plea for anticipatory bail before the High court alleged that he has become a victim of conspiracy in BJP-ruled Goa.

This was stoutly denied by Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar who said he has not intervened in the police investigation in any manner

Parrikar insisted there was no political vendetta against Tejpal but he did ask whether Tejpal was a "Congress stooge".

Parrikar said there as prima facie a case against Tejpal, and the law would take its own course.

In Delhi, a political farce began with Leader of Opposition Sushma Swaraj tweeting that a senior minister who is a relative of Tejpal was protecting him.

Law Minister Kapil Sibal immediately rejected the charge saying that he had only one sister, Asha Nanda, who stays in Maharani Bagh, and Tejpal was in no way connected to him.

Sibal also said, no shares in Tehelka were ever offered to him, nor did he buy shares in Tehelka.

Under attack over the way she handled the issue, Tehelka's managing editor Shoma Choudhury denied indulging in character assassination of her colleague who has pressed charges against Tejpal.

"I strongly reject the allegations in the media that I am involved in any manner with any slander, intimidation or character assassination of the complainant journalist," Choudhury said in a brief statement.
