Mumbai: Money from the  credit card bank account of a 71-year old businessman was siphoned off 426 times within 12 hours by a thief who stole  Rs. 8.5 lakhs from the account.

A resident of Ashok Apartments on Rungta Lane, the businessman was receiving bank alerts on every transaction but he believed them to be false and ignored.

Police said, 425 transactions were made of Rs. 2000  each, while the last transaction was of Rs. 3000.
