Abbas Moideen, who had only returned from a vacation, was brutally assaulted by his colleague resulting in his death due to head injuries in the country's coastal city Jeddah.
"Two Asian expatriates living in the Azizia district had gotten into a fight following a family dispute," Col Aati Al-Quraish of the Makkah regional police headquarters was quoted as saying by Arab News yesterday.
"The victim had suffered a cracked skull and died within five days of being admitted (to a hospital)," he said.
The case is being treated as murder and has been referred to the Bureau of Investigation and Prosecution for further action, he said.
Both, victim and offender, are supposedly from Kerala and worked at a hardware store in Jeddah. This is the second murder of an Indian expat within a
month.
Last month, another Indian expat was brutally killed and his body set on fire in Sharafia district.
