5. TJ's- the brand of Tihar : TJ's is a brand for products being manufactured inside Tihar jail by the inmates. The inmates not only prepare eatable goods but also shirts, carpets, khadi clothes, etc.
 
Other than this, few inmates are busy in creative work like making furniture like small temples, wooden Taj Mahals, wooden India Gates, chairs, tables etc. These are also made for special orders. These goods are not only sold but are also used by the inmates.



6. Creative art therapy: It is psycho-therapeutic in nature. It helps to express, channelize and ventilate the prisoners' feelings. This is meant to channelize prisoner's tremendous anger, aggression, and a sense of helplessness, hopelessness and other emotional problems.



7. Open prisons: In a recently introduces scheme of ‘open prisons' Tihar inmates are allowed to work outside the jail for the day and have to come back at the end of their work shift.
 
This facility is only provided to those who have served at least 2 years and have shown good behaviour in jail.



8. Job Placement: This initiative helped the inmates to get back their respect in society which they lost when they were arrested. The pay scale of the candidates was from Rs. 7,000/- per month to Rs. 25, 000/- per month depending on their ability.
 
A very interesting fact about Tihar is that the rehabilitation program run by the Jail is not optional. Every inmate has to be involved in it except those in high security cells.
