2. Educational and vocational training: there are multiple number of educational courses offered to the inmates with the help of Indira Gandhi National open University (IGNOU) and NGOs.
 
It offers various Bachelor and diploma programmes that can be opted as per choice of the inmate.
 
Apart from that, Vocational classes in English/Hindi typing and Commercial Arts are conducted by the Directorate of Training & Technical Education and certificates are issued to successful students.
 
Computer training, crash courses, medical facilities and Masters in Tourism/Management/Computers Post Graduate Diploma in Distance Education are also offered in Tihar Jail.



3. Gandhian center: It was opened inside jail for spreading the Gandhian philosophy. The Center was established by Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti, Government of India at IGNOU ward. More than 500 books on Gandhian philosophy were added to the library of the center . Some of the inmates who joined the path of ‘Reformation through Education' have been successfully rehabilitated.



4. Expenditure: The cherry on the cake for Tihar inmates is that the expenditure that has to be done on their education and various courses is taken care of by the government. It means all the facilities, education programme and stationery being provided to them is for free.
