Know the most sensational murder cases of India

Neeraj Grover

 

Murder of Neeraj Grover, an employee of a Mumbai based production house, was the result of a supposed love triangle between, Neeraj, Maria Susairaj, a struggling Kannada actress, and Lieutenant M.L. Jerome Mathew, a Navy officer who was Maria's boyfriend. On May 6, 2008 Neeraj approached Maria's new house to help her settle. Mathew called Maria and got upset after hearing that Neeraj is staying in his girlfriend's flat. Filled with  rage, Mathew reached Maria's flat the very next morning and stabbed Neeraj to death with a kitchen knife. Later on Mathew and Maria chopped his body into more than 300 pieces, stuffed them into bags, they went to a jungle in vicinity and set the bags on fire. The culprits were arrested after a thorough investigation by the police.


Jessica Lal

 

Jessica Lal, a model was shot dead in a socialite party, in New Delhi, where she was working as a celebrity barmaid. She was approached by Manu Sharma, son of an influential politician of congress party, and his friends and offered her Rs. 1000 and demanded for more liquor. After Jessica denied the demand of liquor explaining him the rules of court for not selling alcohol after 12.30 AM, Manu became furious and shot at Jessica which resulted in her instant death. Sharma was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Delhi High Court on December 20, 2006. Later, this sentence was endorsed by the Supreme Court of India.

Aarushi Talwar

 

14-year old Aarushi Talwar, the only adopted child of well-known dentist couple- Dr. Rajesh and Nupur Talwar, was discovered dead with her throat slit in her house located in Noida. Initially, the manservant of the family Hemraj was suspected as the culprit. But when Hemraj's decomposed body was found on the terrace of the same building, it changed the track of the case, and the Talwar couple came on the radar of investigation. After being accused of murdering their adopted daughter as well as Hemraj, and after going through a series of trials, Dr. Rajesh and Nupur Talwar were convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment.
