Bharti is considered to be the third most important member of the Asaram family. Called Bhartiben in her younger days, she was portrayed as a symbol of motivation before Asaram devotees.
 
Bharti had a love affair with Dinesh Sindhi who worked as a driver in Asaram's ashram. On learning about his daughter's affair, Asaram got her married to his disciple Hemant in 1997. But the marriage only lasted for three years. The probable reason behind the split between Bharti and Hemant is being considered Asaram's lust for Bharti's mother-in-law.
