5) It was after Haseena Hussein submitted a plea that the court considered an acid attack as an attempt to murder. Haseena was only 19 when she was burnt head to toe with acid. In 1999, after pursing B.com and studies in computers, Haseena joined a software company in Bangalore. However, the company was in loss and eventually had to be shut down. But Haseena's boss Jospeh Rodrix started to pressurize her to not to leave the company and keep working for him from home.

But Haseena kept refusing the offer and joined another firm. One day while she was on her way to office, Joseph Rodrix met her on the road with a 2 litre container filled with acid. He once again asked Haseena to work for him but when she refused Joseph emptied the entire container on her. Haseena was burnt from head to toe sustaining 64 per cent burns.
