Darbara Singh  not only ruthlessly killed 17 innocent children of migrant labourers but also crossed all boundaries of cruelty by trying to rape some of the female victims. 



A court in  Kapurthala  sentenced him to 30 years in jail on charge of raping and attempting to murder the daughter of a migrant labourer.

He was released from Ludhiana jail in 2003 after spending 10 years in prison on "good conduct", but his hatred was so intense that he began on a killing spree.   

The man, even after his arrest in 2004, told the Jalandhar SSP  that he could have killed more children of migrant labourers had he not been arrested by the police “so soon”.
