Delhi Police crime investigation team today recreated the scene of "suicide" inside the Tihar Jail cell, with a metropolitan magistrate assigned to probe the circumstances of death.



Meanwhile, former Tihar Prisons chief and retired IPS official Kiran Bedi, currently an anti-corruption activist, questioned why Ram Singh was not kept amidst a crowd of prisoners, instead of confining him to a cell with three others.

"When jail officials knew that the man was mentally unstable and he had suicidal tendencies, the first thing was to submit him to a psychiatric examination, but this was not done", says Bedi.
